MommaJam on 95.9 WATD-FM: Hurricane Sandy Aftermath, Halloween Fun!

Hurricane Sandy swept through the northeast with a vengeance earlier this week.  Two years in a row we’ve had a Halloween storm.  Most kids on the South Shore were able to celebrate on time, but Norwell has rescheduled for Saturday.

Remember, safety first during this week of wicked weather.  Check out the MommaJam segment on 95.9 WATD from last year’s storm, which has tips for staying safe and healthy during a storm week.

Kids are back in school, but some routines might be off – try to get back to normal as much as possible, so kids feel safe and secure.

Rely on local businesses to get what you need to regroup.  Take the kids to Burtons Grill Hingham at the Derby Street Shoppes, pick up an apple pie at Acorn Canning in Marshfield, go to the Westwinds Bookshop in Duxbury for fun books and a cozy destination for the kids.

Don’t forget those in need.  Volunteer or donate food to your local food pantry to help those struggling through the aftermath of the storm.

Next Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m., Lisa and I will join All Things Food Host Ilene Hills and Burtons Grill for a live tasting of the delicious fall menu at Burtons Grill.  This will be a fun night in the WATD Studio, so tune in to hear about the new dishes at Burtons Grill, located at the Derby Shoppes in Hingham.

Join us for the next live MommaJam on 95.9 WATD-FM on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at 7:10 a.m.
