Food Labeling for Dummies from Animal Welfare Approved Helps Moms Select Healthier Ingredients for Kids Animal Welfare Approved

We cover food almost weekly at MommaJam because eating healthy is so important for kids.

One key “ingredient” to eating right is knowing what’s in the food you’re buying and reading and understanding labels.

The Animal Welfare Approved, an organization that certifies farmers using the highest quality standards for raising pasture and range animals, has published a guide called, “Food Labeling for Dummies.”  The guide helps you understand technical terms or marketing labels on packages in the grocery store.

Food Labeling for Dummies is easy to read and explains the difference between organic versus all natural, an overused, misleading term.  Other words the guide explains:  heritage, heirloom, cage free, grass fed, and much more.

B Choosy Children's MenuSpeaking of delicious, clean food… Did you know that Burtons Grill only buys preservative-free meats – that is why the salmon there tastes so good.  A gluten-free dinner night is coming up in early April.  And, the B Choosey Children’s Menu is always a hit with the kids.  Check out Burtons Grill in Hingham at the Derby Street Shoppes.
