This week, we talk about Summer Reading and getting kids of all ages inspired to crack a book during the dog days of summer.  Tune in to hear these 6 tips:

1.  Attend the Hubbub Book Festival in Boston on June 20.  Kids get to meet fave authors like Mo Willems, a hero in the MommaJam house!

2.  Join a reading program at any South Shore Library.  This year’s theme is Every Hero Has A Story.  Go to your town library to see what events and activities are planned around the program this summer.  Kicks off in late June.

3.  Download the Sommer Reading ListInly School Reading List (see MommaJam’s Facebook page for more information on Sommer Reading List.

4.  See a book come to life with music!

South Shore Conservatory’s (SSC) family-friendly Wacky Wednesdays concert series presents Bats in the Band, SSC’s delightful adaptation of New York Times bestselling author Brian Lies’ latest children’s “bat” book, on Wednesday, July 8, 10 am in the Jane Carr Amphitheater, at One Conservatory Drive, Hingham.

5.  Attend story times for kids at local book stores like West winds Book Shop.

6.  Earn a free book through The Barnes and Noble summer reading program, which gives kids a free book when they read 8 books over the summer.  The Barnes and Noble summer reading program for 2015 is called Imagination’s Destination.
